On July 2 at 20:28, a freight train operated by Jinwen Local Railway Company collided with the K1373 passenger train at Dongxiao Station on the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, causing the K1373 locomotive to derail and remain immobile for approximately three hours. During this time, the temperature inside the carriages soared to 40℃, prompting passengers to repeatedly request the conductor to open the train doors for ventilation, to no avail. Subsequently, a male passenger took matters into his own hands and broke a window to allow air to circulate. At 23:27, following emergency measures taken by the railway department, the K1373 train resumed its journey.
