On October 17, 2026, during the 2026 AOE Ecological Conference for Aerospace Development, the OpenSpace open-source space ecosystem—a collaborative effort among various industry-academia-research-investment entities—was formally introduced. Within this ecosystem, the concurrently launched open-source computing constellation seamlessly merges technologies such as general-purpose computing, intelligent computing, supercomputing, edge computing, and quantum computing. Its overarching goal is to revolutionize satellites into functional space servers orbiting in space. The initial phase is set to deploy 2,600 satellites, comprising precisely 1,000 general-purpose computing satellites, 1,000 intelligent and supercomputing satellites, 500 edge computing satellites, and 100 quantum computing satellites.
