On May 22, local reports indicated that SpaceX had initially scheduled a test flight for its newly upgraded heavy-lift rocket, the 'Starship', on the evening of May 21 (corresponding to the morning of May 22, Beijing time). The launch was set to take place from Launch Pad 2 at SpaceX's 'Starbase' facility in Texas. However, the launch was abruptly canceled at the eleventh hour. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, explained that the test flight was scrubbed because the hydraulic pin, which is crucial for retracting the mechanical arm on the launch tower, malfunctioned. Musk mentioned that if the technical glitch could be rectified by that evening, SpaceX would make another attempt to launch on May 22, local time.
