Tencent’s Vice President, Cai Guangzhong, disclosed that approximately half of WeChat’s development team is now dedicated to adapting the app for HarmonyOS. A specialized team of 800 individuals has been assembled for this initiative, representing half of WeChat’s total client developers. This team is intensifying its efforts with monthly major updates and weekly minor updates. To date, they have rolled out 21 significant versions and over 199 incremental updates. HarmonyOS has officially reported that the total number of devices supporting HarmonyOS 6 has surpassed 60 million. As of March this year, the number of devices running HarmonyOS 5 and 6 combined exceeded 47 million. Yu Chengdong highlighted that the HarmonyOS user base is growing by hundreds of thousands each day, with projections indicating it will exceed 100 million before winter arrives this year.
