Set to commence on April 19, the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon will feature a parallel Humanoid Robot Half Marathon. The humanoid robots taking part this year have witnessed a marked enhancement in their capabilities, boasting swifter running speeds and more refined 'path-recognition' skills. Notably, over two-thirds of the teams competing in the 'self-driven run' category have outfitted their robots with BeiDou spatiotemporal smart kits. During the inaugural marathon in 2025, the robots predominantly depended on remote control, necessitating technicians to trail and maneuver them. In contrast, a greater number of teams have opted for autonomous navigation modes in this year's event.
