On December 20, 2025, German engineer Michaela Benthaus soared into the skies aboard Blue Origin's "New Shepard" rocket. The rocket blasted off from West Texas in the USA, carrying Benthaus all the way to the edge of space. During this extraordinary journey, she got to experience around 10 minutes of weightlessness, a sensation that's truly out of this world. Moreover, she was treated to breathtaking views of our beautiful planet Earth.
Benthaus, who became paralyzed following a mountain - biking accident, saw this flight as a momentous milestone. It represents a significant stride towards greater inclusivity, opening up the realm of commercial space tourism to people with disabilities.
