Microsoft announced during its OneDrive + Copilot event that users will soon be able to directly edit HTML and Markdown files within OneDrive, eliminating the need for local editors or frequent tool switching. For HTML files, users can modify text content directly on the rendered page, with real-time source code preview available in both side-by-side and full-screen modes. Regarding Markdown file editing, a new WYSIWYG editor with a rich-text toolbar has been introduced, allowing users to maintain Markdown formatting after saving even when adjusting formats. Additionally, this feature supports real-time collaborative editing of Markdown files by multiple users, enhancing team collaboration efficiency. Microsoft has also improved the search experience for shared document libraries, with shared libraries now appearing in OneDrive search results and file selectors, enabling users to quickly locate team materials without accessing separate portals.
