On October 21, The Information cited sources familiar with the matter stating that NVIDIA is in discussions to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Firmus, an Australian AI cloud service provider. Firmus withdrew its IPO plans earlier this month. These negotiations may indicate that NVIDIA will continue to support a group of Neocloud (new AI cloud service providers) that have not yet been fully tested by the market. These companies previously took on significant debt to purchase NVIDIA GPUs and deploy them in data centers, and are now facing financial pressure. According to the media analysis, NVIDIA has provided over $170 billion in funding commitments to such companies and other large clients, including offering credit guarantees to assist them in securing debt financing.
