Wang Weiming, the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, announced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that throughout the first half of 2026, the industrial and information technology sectors witnessed a sustained enhancement in their development trajectory. Specifically, the added value generated by industrial enterprises above the designated size saw a year-on-year increase of 5.4%, contributing more than 35% to the overall economic growth. Furthermore, in the initial five months of the year, the total profits accrued by these industrial enterprises experienced an 18.8% surge compared to the same period last year, indicating a notable improvement in operational efficiency.
