At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Ke Ruiwen, Chairman of China Telecom, disclosed that the computing power managed by its "Xirang" intelligent computing platform has surpassed 100 EFLOPS. China Telecom plans to moderately expedite the deployment of computing infrastructure. The company has already established over 900 data centers, boasting a combined power capacity of nearly 8 GW, thus cementing its position as the nation's largest AIDC (Artificial Intelligence Data Center) service provider. Looking ahead, China Telecom will further expand its domestic computing power planning, enhance the deployment of edge computing clusters, and accelerate the development of a computing interconnection network. It will also push forward the construction of the 'New Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals' backbone optical cable network, upgrading transmission links to 800G. Simultaneously, China Telecom will intensify its efforts in deploying gigabit optical networks and 5G-A, explore the establishment of in-computing networks, and continue to invest in submarine cable resources to furnish robust network support for international AI cooperation.
