By the close of June 2026, China had successfully established 120,000 high-grade datasets spanning scientific research, industrial manufacturing, and other domains, with the overall data volume surpassing 1,565 petabytes. This signifies a remarkable surge of over 60% from the end of the first quarter, roughly 547 times the combined digital resources held by the National Library of China. Concurrently, the annotation scale in seven pilot cities designated for data annotation, such as Chengdu in Sichuan province, has exceeded 119 petabytes, engaging 140,000 professionals in the process. Moving forward, the National Data Bureau is set to intensify efforts in constructing a robust high-quality data supply system to bolster artificial intelligence development and advocate for the paid utilization of datasets.
