On July 10, news broke that on the 9th, a cluster comprising over 10,000 domestically-produced AI computing cards was officially inaugurated in Shaoguan, within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This cluster, backed by a substantial investment of 5.5 billion yuan, is outfitted with 11,520 domestically-manufactured Ascend AI acceleration computing chips. Collectively, these chips offer a formidable computing power of 9,000P, positioning the cluster as a leader in overall performance on the global stage.

As a pivotal component of the national integrated computing power network hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the cluster is primarily designed to support the AI industry within the region. Its establishment marks a significant leap forward in the research and development of domestically-produced large models, ushering in a new era of "computing power autonomy". Furthermore, through strategic collaborations with upstream and downstream enterprises specializing in domestically-produced chips, operating systems, and algorithm frameworks, the cluster aims to construct a comprehensive computing power ecosystem chain. This chain will span from infrastructure to industrial applications, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of domestically-produced chips and training frameworks.
