On July 10, reports surfaced indicating that the '15th Five-Year Plan for the Information and Communication Industry in Guangdong Province (Draft for Public Comment)' has been made available for public feedback. The draft outlines a strategic approach to systematically advance the large-scale deployment of 5G-A networks across cities within the Pearl River Delta region, ensuring comprehensive coverage in high-demand areas. Additionally, it highlights Guangdong's proactive involvement in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's 6G technology trials, aiming to spearhead the construction and commercialization of 6G networks, thereby securing a competitive edge in the emerging technology landscape.
Parallel to these efforts, the plan underscores the importance of expanding pilot projects for 10-gigabit optical networks, enhancing network performance in critical scenarios, and expediting the modernization of industrial park networks. It also advocates for the widespread adoption of cutting-edge optical fiber and cable technologies, such as G.654E, alongside the deployment of 800G optical transmission systems and all-optical cross-connect equipment, to construct a highly efficient all-optical transport network.
Furthermore, the plan emphasizes the need to deepen the deployment of Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) single-stack architecture and actively develop a quantum communication backbone network, facilitating the establishment of high-speed quantum channels operating at 400G and beyond.
