SoftBank Group, along with its telecommunications subsidiary, is set to initiate the leasing of AI computing resources to US-based companies via SB Neo Inc., starting from the upcoming fiscal year. This newly formed cloud joint venture has set its sights on delivering a massive 10-gigawatt-scale data center capacity by the year 2030. Such a formidable capacity is poised to bolster large-scale AI model training and inference processes. In a strategic move, SoftBank has pledged to invest a staggering sum of around $65 billion in OpenAI by October. This substantial investment positions OpenAI as a potential prime customer for SoftBank's AI cloud services.
