On June 24th, news emerged that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with four other pivotal departments, has officially announced the systematic rollout of pilot projects for industrial 5G standalone private networks. This strategic move is designed to cater to the specific management requirements of specialized industries and large-scale to extra-large enterprises concerning their information and communication networks, as well as the safeguarding of critical production data.

The industrial 5G standalone private network, spearheaded by industrial entities, encompasses vital components such as access networks and core networks, enabling it to function autonomously from the public network infrastructure. The pilot projects will be guided by a set of core principles: "comprehensive planning and standardization, selecting the cream of the crop, ensuring safety and reliability, promoting intensiveness and efficiency, and advancing in a step-by-step manner." These principles will underpin the support provided to large and extra-large enterprises across diverse sectors, including raw materials, equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, electronic information, defense technology, and energy transportation, in their endeavors to construct standalone private networks.
