On January 22 (local time), data from fault-monitoring websites revealed a widespread disruption in Microsoft 365 services, causing thousands of users to be unable to use them as usual. By 4:54 PM Eastern Time, there had been roughly 8,200 fault reports, with more than 15,700 reports submitted earlier in the day. Microsoft announced on the social platform X that the affected infrastructure had resumed operations. The company was redirecting traffic to backup facilities and was actively investigating the causes behind the abnormal traffic processing in some North American services.
