On October 21, Micron Technology, a U.S.-based memory chip manufacturer, announced that its Taiwanese subsidiary, Micron Memory Taiwan, had reached a labor agreement with the employee union at its Taichung plant. Both parties decided to cancel the mediation process originally scheduled for October 22 and will explain the details of the agreement to employees in the coming days. However, Micron's labor issues in Taiwan have not been fully resolved, as another union representing employees at the Taoyuan plant has planned a one-day warning strike on October 22 to protest the company's arrangements regarding employee bonuses and profit-sharing mechanisms.
