As reported by Reuters, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent have collectively placed orders for more than 3 million units of Nvidia's RTX PRO 5500 graphics cards, with the total value potentially exceeding 35 billion US dollars (over 230 billion yuan). The RTX PRO 5500, a workstation graphics card launched by Nvidia in September 2026, boasts 84GB of GDDR7 memory. It is tailored specifically for rack-mounted workstations, local AI inference tasks, and professional graphics rendering applications.
Given that the demand from Chinese tech companies significantly outstrips Nvidia's planned production capacity, the company cannot ensure the fulfillment of all orders. The global production limit for 2027 is set at 3 million units, whereas orders from Chinese customers alone have already surpassed 6 million units.
