On September 8th, it was reported that, propelled by a steady stream of orders for the 2-nanometer process, particularly from major U.S. tech firms like Tesla and Broadcom, Samsung Electronics' wafer plant located in Taylor, Texas, is poised to initiate trial production between the end of this month and the beginning of next month. Currently, the plant is operating at full tilt, with all scheduled production volumes already fully booked. Notably, the yield rate for the 2-nanometer process stood at approximately 60% at the start of the year and has recently climbed to around 80%, signaling its preparedness for large-scale production. The plant has plans to commence mass production in the coming year.
