On September 7th, the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), revealed that a research team, headed by Researcher Xie Peng from its Department of Spaceborne and Aerial Laser Technology and Systems, has achieved notable advancements in the realm of multi-dimensional multiplexed optical computing. Their findings have been published in Laser & Photonics Reviews. Leveraging their prior work on the "Meteor-1" ultra-high parallel optical computing integrated chip, the team has successfully incorporated wavelength division multiplexing and space division multiplexing technologies. This integration facilitates the sharing of multi-task matrix networks, leading to the establishment of a multi-dimensional multiplexed optical computing framework. This innovative framework is adept at parallel processing of multi-task and multi-modal information, and its practicality has been demonstrated through successful applications in remote sensing image registration and recognition tasks.
