An analysis conducted by KB Securities in South Korea has revealed that Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix currently possess memory inventory sufficient for less than 10 days of operations in this quarter. This scarcity poses challenges in responding swiftly to abrupt surges in demand. Projections indicate that by 2027, the investment in AI infrastructure by global hyperscale data center companies will surge to US$1.3 trillion, marking a 60% year-on-year increase. Concurrently, the share of memory semiconductors within this investment landscape is expected to skyrocket from 14% in 2025 to 57% in 2027, representing a fourfold increase over the span of two years.
