Jeong Myeong-gyu, South Korea's Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced that consultations between South Korea and the United States regarding U.S. semiconductor tariffs are still underway. Both nations have agreed to ensure that South Korea will not face a competitive disadvantage in this context. The U.S. has previously pledged to treat South Korean chip manufacturers equitably and has yet to specify a timeline for the tariff announcement. Meanwhile, South Korea remains committed to finalizing its investment projects in the U.S. by September, although certain domestic procedures are still pending completion.
