On September 3, reports surfaced indicating that Samsung Electronics is set to incorporate 1,612 Korean-manufactured devices into its semiconductor back-end process factory currently under construction in Thai Nguyen Province, Vietnam. This move is part of a substantial investment totaling US$4.08 billion. The financial backing for this project is diverse, comprising US$100 million in self-funded capital, US$1.41 billion sourced from affiliated companies within the Samsung Group, and an additional US$2.57 billion earmarked for reinvestment from anticipated future profits. Notably, all the equipment to be installed is brand-new and directly imported from South Korea, underscoring Samsung's commitment to utilizing cutting-edge technology in its Vietnamese operations.
