The worldwide surge in artificial intelligence (AI) has sparked a supply shortage for memory chips. In light of this situation, Apple is currently in the process of testing memory chips manufactured by China's ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) for potential integration into its flagship products, such as the iPhone and MacBook. Insiders with knowledge of the situation reveal that Apple has initiated preliminary talks with CXMT, with the intention of sourcing components for certain devices targeted at the Chinese market. Given the politically charged environment, Apple is also in the process of seeking clearance from the White House.
