Based on information from Japanese hardware distributor CFD Sales, Gigabyte has implemented a sweeping increase in the wholesale prices of its graphics cards, effective August 1. The hikes range from 20% to 40%. This price revision is a direct response to alterations in manufacturer costs. The burgeoning demand for AI computing power has resulted in a scarcity of materials like video memory, which in turn has constrained the production capacity of graphics cards. It is projected that a Gigabyte graphics card, initially priced at 1,000 yuan, will now retail for between 1,200 and 1,400 yuan following the price surge.
