As per reports, following regulatory actions aimed at curbing speculative trading, the trading volume of leveraged ETFs associated with South Korea's two leading semiconductor giants has witnessed a substantial decrease. Particularly noteworthy is the trading volume of South Korea's largest single-stock leveraged ETF, which is pegged to the stock price of SK Hynix. This volume plummeted to 59 million shares on Monday, hitting its lowest point since June 4. In a similar vein, the trading volume of a smaller, yet comparable, ETF linked to Samsung Electronics also dropped to its nadir since its debut in late May. Prior to these regulatory measures, these leveraged ETF products had been contributing to heightened volatility within the South Korean stock market.
