Gilad Shainer, Senior Vice President of NVIDIA, made the announcement that Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) technology has now officially kicked off mass production. The switches, which NVIDIA developed in close collaboration with its supply chain partners, have already been dispatched to customers and are being put into operation in NVIDIA's own data centers. It is anticipated that a substantial quantity of switches equipped with CPO technology will be rolled out to AI factories across the globe this year. Prior to the mass production of CPO, NVIDIA has successfully built a robust supply chain ecosystem and will actively engage in the formulation of industry technical standards. Gilad Shainer emphasized that the most significant growth driver in the future optical communication market will stem from vertical expansion. The demand for bandwidth efficiency is projected to surpass that of horizontal expansion by over ten times, thereby fueling substantial growth in the optical communication market.
