According to macrostream, at an AI event in San Francisco, SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won, who shared the stage with Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, revealed that Anthropic has formally requested supply support from SK Hynix to support the manufacturing of its self-developed semiconductors. Choi Tae-won described Anthropic's plan for self-developed chips as "remarkable." Previously, Anthropic had announced a $50 billion investment plan for data centers and was exploring the development of its own chips. Seeking direct support from suppliers indicates that its chip self-development is moving from planning to actual implementation. Anthropic's self-developed chip plan covers ASICs and GPUs, aiming to reduce reliance on external chip suppliers amid the global shortage of computing power.
