On July 15, news emerged that Envision AESC's Yichang Super Plant had officially begun production. This plant specializes in manufacturing the world's largest prismatic wound 790Ah energy storage cells, boasting an impressive energy density of 440Wh/L. At present, a significant 50% of its production capacity has already been secured through overseas orders, enabling it to achieve 'mass production and immediate export'. It is noteworthy that the Yichang Super Plant stands as the world's first 100GWh-scale energy storage full-industry-chain base. The first phase of the project is slated for a 40GWh cell production capacity, with construction set to commence in October 2025. Meanwhile, the second phase aims for a 60GWh cell production capacity alongside a 60GWh energy storage system production capacity, and construction for this phase has already kicked off in April of this year.
