On June 22, TrendForce's latest research indicates that due to structural supply tightness in mature process DRAM, demand-side players for Consumer DRAM are shifting to procure older-generation products to secure more supply quotas, spurring a new wave of procurement demand for older-generation Consumer DRAM chips. As a result, contract prices for Consumer DRAM chips in generations such as DDR2 and DDR3 will continue the upward trend seen in the first quarter of 2026. It is expected that the contract price increase for DDR2 in the second quarter will reach 55% to 60%, with a potential further rise of 35% to 40% in the third quarter.
