Recently, Professor He Gang and his team from the Frontier Institute of Science and Technology at Xi’an Jiaotong University have made significant strides in the study of optoelectronic functional interfaces and the regulation of electron transport. Their systematic research has yielded a range of original findings in areas such as photocatalysis, large-scale energy storage, and intelligent sensing. By focusing on the structural design and interface coupling mechanisms of viologen-based functional molecules, the team’s two latest studies have unlocked new potential for the application of viologen-based materials in brain-like computing and solar energy conversion. These advancements were achieved through the exploration of "ion-electron coupling regulation" and "interface-directed electron transport," respectively, offering fresh perspectives for the development of low-power intelligent devices and highly stable energy catalytic systems.
