Recently, at the TERAFAB launch event in Austin, Musk disclosed Tesla, xAI, and SpaceX's chip strategies for the upcoming decade. Alongside the much-anticipated AI5 and AI6 chips, the presentation also introduced a third specialized chip: the D3. The D3, also known as the Dojo 3 chip, signifies a strategic enhancement in Tesla's custom chip initiative, tailored explicitly for space-based computational capabilities. The D3 architecture shifts its focus away from competing with NVIDIA for terrestrial supercomputing supremacy and instead targets computational support in the vacuum of space. The D3 chip is meticulously crafted to endure the rigorous conditions of space, capable of withstanding elevated temperatures, substantially reducing the mass of the cooling system, and boasting robust radiation resistance.

The D3 processors will be seamlessly integrated into expansive orbital server racks, propelled into orbit by Starship. They will undertake the colossal data processing tasks necessary for xAI's intelligent upgrades, offering computational guidance for humanity's venture into the depths of space.
