According to informed sources, China has recently instructed certain tech firms to halt their orders for NVIDIA's H200 AI chips, with an anticipated requirement for these companies to switch to purchasing domestically-produced artificial intelligence chips. Given the uncertainties surrounding the approval process for shipping these chips by Chinese regulatory authorities, NVIDIA has responded by mandating that Chinese customers pay in full upfront when placing orders for H200 chips. The company has also instituted stringent terms and conditions, prohibiting any cancellations, refunds, or modifications to the order specifications after it has been placed. However, under exceptional circumstances, customers have the option to utilize commercial insurance or provide asset collateral as an alternative to making a cash payment.
