According to reports from Taiwan's Electronic Times, Samsung Electronics has decided to decelerate its previously announced plan to discontinue certain DDR4 memory production lines in the fourth quarter of this year. The tech giant is now set to enter into long-term DDR4 supply contracts with select clients in the server industry during the first quarter of next year. These agreements will be non-cancellable and non-modifiable, a strategic move aimed at optimizing capacity scheduling to maximize profits. The DDR4 products covered by these contracts will be predominantly used for server-grade applications, a decision that underscores the ongoing and robust demand for DDR4 memory expected to persist into 2026.
