Samsung's Exynos 2600 chip, which is crafted using a cutting-edge 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) fabrication process, has successfully attained a yield rate of 60%. This new chip is set to be introduced to the market at a price point that is $20 to $30 lower than that of Qualcomm's Snapdragon counterpart. Moreover, production of the Exynos 2600 has already commenced.
It is anticipated that this chip will power the upcoming Galaxy S26 series smartphones, which are slated for release in 2026. While the performance enhancements of the Exynos 2600 have not fully lived up to initial expectations, the achievement of the targeted yield rate is still a noteworthy milestone. Samsung is aiming to bolster its standing in the fiercely competitive mobile chip market by adopting a price-competitive approach. Through this strategy, the company hopes to reshape the market dynamics.
