At the 2025 Integrated Circuit Development Forum (Chengdu - Chongqing Region) and the 31st Integrated Circuit Design Industry Exhibition (ICCAD - Expo 2025), Dai Weimin, the founder of VeriSilicon, made a bold prediction. He stated that by 2028, China will have less than ten foundational large models. Moreover, he anticipates that the sales volume of edge-side fine-tuning and inference cards will surpass that of cloud-side training cards. Looking further ahead to 2035, Dai Weimin projects that AI-related chips will constitute 77.7% of the semiconductor market share. He also emphasized that the widespread use of edge AI devices will serve as the core driving force behind the growth of the semiconductor market.
