Industry insiders have disclosed that Samsung Electronics' recently formed Business Support Department has created a dedicated merger and acquisition (M&A) task force. This move is anticipated to significantly quicken the pace of Samsung's acquisition activities. Following the closure of Samsung Group's Future Strategy Office in November 2017, the Business Support Department undertook a reorganization and formed a specialized team. This team was officially launched last week. The task force is headed by An Jong-hyun, the general manager of Samsung Electronics. An Jong-hyun has a wealth of experience, having previously overseen major projects, including Samsung Electronics' acquisition of Harman International Industries, a prominent U.S.-based automotive electronics company.
