On November 12, 2025, at its Financial Analyst Day, AMD rolled out its future CPU architecture roadmap. The company confirmed that the Zen 6 architecture is set to hit the market in 2026. Leveraging TSMC's state-of-the-art 2nm process technology, this new architecture is poised to deliver significant improvements in both Instructions Per Cycle (IPC) performance and energy efficiency. Moreover, it will introduce support for cutting-edge AI functionalities. The Zen 6 architecture will span across multiple product lines, including the EPYC 'Venice' for servers, the desktop Ryzen 'Olympic Ridge', and the mobile Ryzen 'Medusa Point'.
In a major reveal, AMD also officially confirmed the existence of the Zen 7 architecture for the first time. This next-generation architecture is anticipated to make its debut in 2027, boasting a brand-new matrix engine and deeply integrated AI capabilities that are expected to push the boundaries of computing performance even further.
