On November 12, reports surfaced indicating that, subsequent to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce granting export exemptions for Nexperia chips, automotive component makers—including Aumovio, a subsidiary of Germany's Continental AG—have begun receiving shipments of Nexperia chips from China. An Aumovio executive revealed that the company may now forgo its previously scheduled holiday production shutdown. Meanwhile, Honda's Executive Vice President, Hideki Kaibara, confirmed that his company had been notified by Chinese authorities about the resumption of chip shipments and was promptly ramping up production at its manufacturing facilities. Volkswagen China's CEO, Ralf Brandstätter, noted that the automotive sector had already received its initial batch of chips, emphasizing the industry's appreciation for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce's prompt action.
