Recently, the DRAM market has encountered another bout of turbulence, marked by a notable uptick in DDR5 memory prices. Leading suppliers, including Samsung, have temporarily halted contract pricing for DDR5, with a resumption anticipated around mid-month. Consequently, the anticipated contract price increase for server DRAM in the fourth quarter has been revised upward, now ranging from 18% to 23%. Furthermore, DDR5 memory prices are projected to maintain an upward trajectory throughout 2026. This trend has also spilled over into the graphics card market, where prices for GDDR6 and GDDR7 memory have risen accordingly. Notably, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB graphics card, which utilizes 2Gb GDDR7 memory chips, is expected to encounter a supply shortage in the near future, potentially within days or weeks. As a result, consumers may face not only price hikes but also challenges in securing this product.
