According to Bloomberg, sources familiar with the matter revealed that SoftBank Group considered acquiring U.S. chipmaker Marvell earlier this year. If the deal had been completed, it would have become the largest merger and acquisition in the semiconductor industry to date. SoftBank planned to merge Marvell with its majority-owned British chip design company Arm Holdings to further expand its presence in the AI infrastructure sector.
