On October 16th, TSMC presented a robust forecast at its financial conference. TSMC Chairman Mark Liu highlighted that the demand for generative AI has surged even further compared to three months prior. Presently, there is an acute shortage of both front-end and back-end capacities for AI chips, prompting the company to spare no effort in expanding its production capabilities. Projections indicate that by 2026, it will remain a challenge to fully satisfy the market's demand for AI-related capacities. Regarding capital expenditures, TSMC is set to sustain a high level of investment in the next two years. However, the growth in revenue is anticipated to outstrip that of capital expenditures, thereby continuing the trend of enhanced capital efficiency observed in recent years.
