Intel is in full - throttle preparation for the launch of its next - generation Panther Lake processor. The company has rolled out a set of Linux - based optimizations that bring about a substantial improvement in gaming performance. As per reports, Intel's Linux team has put forward 14 Mesa patches. These patches have been successfully integrated into the 3D graphics driver for the soon - to - be - released Xe3 GPU platform. The crux of these patches lies in optimizing scheduling and thread parallelism. Internal testing results are quite impressive, indicating that gaming performance can witness an increase of up to 18%. While most games experience performance enhancements in the range of 4% to 9%, it's worth noting that shader compilation times have gone up.
