Recently, Professors Zhang Jincheng and Ning Jing, part of the team led by Academician Hao Yue at the School of Integrated Circuits at Xidian University, have achieved a remarkable breakthrough in the integration of wide bandgap semiconductor materials. Their research, titled "Van der Waals β-Ga₂O₃ thin films on polycrystalline diamond substrates," has been published online in Nature Communications. This study successfully integrates high-quality β-Ga₂O₃ thin films with high thermal conductivity polycrystalline diamond substrates, offering a novel approach to address the thermal management challenges faced by gallium oxide-based electronic devices.
