Meta will leverage artificial intelligence to identify teenage users on Instagram and seamlessly transition their accounts to a specialized teen account mode, aimed at bolstering online safety. This mode imposes limitations on contact capabilities and content viewing permissions, and mandates parental consent for users under 16 to modify settings. Currently, 54 million adolescents worldwide benefit from this protective account structure. Furthermore, Meta intends to extend these features to Facebook and Messenger platforms.
