Chungin "Roy" Lee, a 21-year-old entrepreneur, announced that his startup, Cluely, has successfully completed a $5.3 million seed funding round led by investors such as Abstract Ventures and Susa Ventures. Cluely offers an AI-powered tool designed to assist users in obtaining answers during exams, interviews, and various other scenarios. The tool's origins trace back to a predecessor that aided programmers in solving LeetCode programming challenges. Lee and his co-founder, Neel Shanmugam, faced suspension from Columbia University for developing such tools and ultimately decided to leave the institution. Impressively, the tool now generates a monthly recurring revenue of $3 million.
