On April 21, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology unveiled the commencement of the 2025 program for cultivating and accrediting provincial manufacturing innovation centers. This endeavor encompasses a broad spectrum of industries in Shandong Province, spanning from traditional strengths to emerging and futuristic sectors, with the objective of motivating eligible leading enterprises to spearhead the establishment of these innovation hubs. This year, Shandong will prioritize traditional industries like metallurgy, chemicals, and light industry, alongside advantaged sectors such as high-end chemicals, automobiles, and smart home appliances. Additionally, it will encompass burgeoning industries like new-generation information technology, new energy and materials, and new energy vehicles, as well as visionary sectors such as the metaverse, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology. Companies within these domains will have the chance to participate in the development and accreditation process for provincial manufacturing innovation centers.
