On Wednesday, October 22, Anthropic introduced a groundbreaking new application named Claude Duet, which is designed to function as a proactive AI agent. This innovative tool operates continuously in the background, actively prompting users about pending tasks and adeptly managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously. At present, Claude Duet is in the research preview phase, and interested users are required to join a waitlist to gain access. Consequently, it is not yet positioned to directly compete with similar agent products such as Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots in the broader market. Anthropic disclosed that the development of Duet is built upon its flagship model, Opus 5.5.
