On October 21, Infineon announced a deepened collaboration with NVIDIA to jointly advance an 800V DC power supply architecture for AI data centers, with a focus on developing high-voltage intermediate bus converters. Infineon will utilize gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor technology to enhance power conversion efficiency and power density while reducing energy loss and cooling requirements. This collaboration builds on a project initiated by both parties in 2025 to develop an 800V DC power supply architecture, covering intermediate bus conversion and power path protection. The goal is to support AI data centers with higher power density and enhance the hot-swappable maintenance capabilities of server racks.
