Synaptics has introduced the Astra SR200 series of multimodal edge AI processors, which are designated as 'xMCU'. This series enhances AI computing, image, and audio processing capabilities within a low-power microcontroller architecture, and is equipped with high-capacity on-chip packaged memory. It is primarily aimed at smart glasses, wearable devices, smart cameras, battery-powered sensors, as well as industrial vision and voice systems, enabling devices to process various types of data locally and reduce reliance on external processors and cloud-based inference.
